How does the Vatech Shooting Compare to other Shootings? The Virginia Tech massacre had shattered everyone in the world. It’s like an havoc for the Institute and people affected by it. It not only accounted for the innocent people’s life but also made everyone to realize what is going on in the schools and colleges presently. It had not happen first time in the history of United States. But we had some other examples with us. We didn’t forget the Columbine High School massacre occurred on Tuesday, April 20, 1999, in Jefferson Country, Colorado. How can we forget the !966 University of Texas massacre. These massacre had given birth to the debate about the gun powers in United States. It also involved the subcultures and bullying in High Schools. In the year 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold arrived at Columbine High School. They were having views of the cafeteria side entrance and each of them covering the main exit of the school. They set up a small fire bomb in a field just half a mile away from the school. It was set to explode at 11:14 a.m., and was set up there as a diversion for emergency personnel. They also put propane bombs to explode at cafeteria at 11:17 a.m. But the bomb failed in cafeteria and then these two guys started firing with two sawed-off shotguns. They went to the top of west entrance, which was the highest point in the campus. From there they started firing which accounted for the lives of many innocent people. The same thing happened in University of Texas, in year 1966. Charles Joseph Whitman was a student at the University of Texas at Astin who shot and killed 13 people and wounded 31 others from atop University’s 27-story tower. Whitman also murdered his wife and mother a night before. An autopsy told that Whitman was having a brain tumor, which led him to do so. Now the same thing happened in Virginia Tech an April 16, 2007 by a English graduate, Cho Seung-Hui. No one knows what will happen next and where.
