Matthew Gwaltney

A graduate student from Chester, Va., Matthew Gwaltney was in his second year of a program in civil and environmental engineering and enjoyed working on river mechanics and river restoration but left time to play basketball and softball in the summer. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2005. His master's research focused on stormwater management, and he was a teaching assistant, along with Brian Bluhm.
